So Very Pathetic

I'm going to quit posting things like this soon, I promise. The point has been made many, many times over that McCain is a cynical, grandstanding schemer whose contempt for the electorate is matched only by his willingness to do or say anything he thinks will get him elected, and that Sarah Palin's qualifications for the job of Vice-President pale in comparison to most cacti. But still.

Alternet has more.

Update. Here's the first conservative pundit calling for SP to bow out: Kathleen Parker, in the National Review. Think she will?

Another Update.

It had been bugging me for a while, but I finally realized who it is that Sarah Palin reminds me of the most: Peggy Hill! (And apparently someone else already noticed it and put in on Wikipedia even before I went there.) And it's not just the physical resemblence that's so striking, but also the entire personality and mannerisms of these two cartoon characters (and yes, that's all Sarah Palin is, ultimately - a cartoon character) that are virtually identical. Consider this description of one of them, taken from Wikipedia:

[The more we get to know her, the more we notice her] superiority complex and her egotism. She frequently aggrandizes her own accomplishments and is often unintentionally encouraged by others, such as her continual recognition as substitute teacher of the year, although she won the first award due to the fact she created it. Her belief that someone can do anything if they put their mind to it often leads her into trouble when she takes the philosophy too literally; she often believes she can do something for which she has not the skill or background. It is perhaps not the fact that [she] thinks so highly of herself, but in her assumption (and expectation) that everyone else thinks equally highly of her, which leads her into predicaments.

Who is that being described there anyway, Peggy or Sarah?

Dude, you have absolutely nailed it. Except Peggy Hill is so much more likable and believable.

And there's no way in hell that Sarah Palin could ever be a Boggle champion.

Shall we start the rumor that the First Dude has a narrow urethra?

And I've seen Kathleen Parker on those Sunday morning talk shows. She's definitely a MILF, I'd say (assuming she's reproduced, of course.)

Wow, John, you sure seem to have a thing for right-wing women. I'm surprised.

Well, I refuse to reject a woman, right wing or not, solely on looks (i.e. if all I know of her is her looks). And the only place on TV I've ever seen this Kathleen Parker I think is on the Chris Matthews show on Sunday morning, and maybe she tones down her right-wingedness there. That's a pretty M.O.R. show, even Matthews himself doesn't breathe any fire on it. Also, Andrea Mitchell is a frequent panelist, so any other woman panelist there is bound to look good in comparison.

But let there be no mistake about it. Peggy Hill is under no circumstances a MILF!
